mom & i’s favourite! seeing the bubbling, enthusiastic pot of curry when first brought never gets old !! the gravy has wonderful kick of spice to it, and picking the bones from the fish head though is a pain in the ass is sooo worth it for that sweet meat! filled to the brim with asparagus, tomato, beancurd tofu and cabbage. paired with a cup of iced barley truly elevates it to a delectable comfort food :)

overall the two dishes were pretty good! both meats were tender and flavourful, and the sides that came with them paired with their respective dishes well. i really loved the addition of the pomegranate (?) seeds mixed into the quinoa that went along with the lamb!

would like to mention that we used a 1-for-1 fave voucher (pulled off last i checked) so each person was charged $15. the staff were attentive and patient! :)

i got the matcha cream puff (pictured) & two of the kazu kazu sticks ($3.50 each) in hokkaido cream and matcha!
———
both of them were relatively the same — albeit the size —, with the rich cream was encapsulated in a flakey and airy crust.
i wasn’t particularly a fan of the latter, it disintegrated far too quickly in my mouth, and pieces of the kazu started to break apart and i got my fingers covered with cream trying to shove them in my mouth before they fell to the floor :c
i preferred it more the next day, the crust was more chewy and reminiscent of a normal cream puff / stick. it definitely came down to personal preference.
the flavour of the creams wasn’t anything unique, but better off than others in flavour :)

the respective flavours were really intense and rich, and the roasted notes of the two really went well together when mixed 🤤

i loved this! the broth was creamy and enriched with a potent prawn flavour. i could drink the broth everyday without qualms, lol. the shrimp dumplings & ramen noodles were fine. it’s quite a large portion for smaller eaters like me; but i’d willingly come back again.

[left: cheese fries.
from top right to bottom right: shake stack w/ lettuce wrap & bacon, shroom burger, shake stack w/ bacon.]

despite the hype, i had kinda low expectations for SS, and honestly? SS exceeded it. i had the middle boi, the shroom burger ($10.80) and the star was the deep-fried mushroom patty. the stretch of the cheddar and the crunch of the breadcrumb exterior left me satisfied:) cheese fries wasn’t particularly good; skip it.
