Sautéed Hokkaido Scallops with Cauliflower Cream and Ikura What I really loved about the scallops here were how flavourful they were, oozing with juices, it was the dish that was savoury enough to compliment the sweet Pumpkin Soup.

Braised Wagyu Beef Cheek Starring at this photo of the Beef Cheek is making me hungry. Even if you had no teeth, you would be able to eat this dish as the meat was so tender and soft! I’m definitely coming back to Cosmo Restaurant & Wine Bar for this again!

Christmas Set 8 course meal come with fresh delicious seafood I think is worth the price going there. I will go again

Good Value Fusion in Town A nice cozy shop tucked in a little corner of town, my partner and I got the 3-course lunch set there. They gave an entire small wheel of Truffle Camembert cheese as part of the appetizer for a $30 lunch set, if that ain’t great value I don’t know what is. We also had the Chicken Ballotine and Beef Linguine, which were tasty with an asian twist that I can’t exactly place. But it tastes like really good Zhi Char. While my partner and I went there expecting kind of a conventional western meal, we were pleasantly surprised at the fusion Singaporean twist the dishes had. Certainly worth considering if you're looking for something a little adventurous, but less-so if you're bent on an authentic western experience. Overall an excellent fusion meal with good value for money!

Ribeye Wagyu Steak Great service and excellent food. Had the ribeye wagyu steak, and the host was kind enough to recommend a bottle of wine to go with it. Our experience exceeded expectations and we even decided to join their membership. Will definitely visit TWGF again.

mentaiko salmon bowl ($10) butterfly pea rice was mushy. bowl looks vibrant but overall flavours were quite eh. the salmon was tender tho and came with generous torched mentaiko which i appreciated!

Surprisingly Not As Gimmicky As I Thought It Would Be Was intrigued by Lagoon in a Bowl at Amoy Street Food Centre because of its rice that has a pretty blue hue. Thought it was gimmicky but was pleasantly surprised by the quality of food! You can either get salmon, steak or salmon + steak. Was expecting these to be dry but they were Uber tender! Also we’re slightly under seasoned so that when paired with the Mentaiko sauce, it would not be too salty. Really appreciate the generous about of vegetables provided too for a well balanced dish!

Surprisingly Good Amoy has a lot of more modern food from young hawkers and this is one of them. Tbh wasn’t expecting much but eh not bad sia. I got the salmon Wagyu combi and Wah, I was expecting either one or both of the proteins to be dry but no leh. The Wagyu beef was extremely tender and juicy. A little under marinated but this was necessary because the mentaiko sauce it was slathered in was already quite gao. The salmon also was very tender, felt like a sous vide texture. This also came with blue rice (for the lagoon feelz) and I liked it. Price point is very steep for hawker food ($16) but idm eating it again lah if I’m feeling rich.

Good tiramisu Tiramisu @ $13++ It's good, but we have had much better. The rum wasn't soaked through in the middle so the taste could have been better. Base sauce was mango and raspberry which didn't really go well with tiramisu.

The pizza has breadlike base, but they managed to keep it thin with very great texture and the right amount of sauce such that it's not soggy and the base crust is crispy! Affordable decent brunch fare! Found a hidden gem in the heart of the novena area! @thecluelessgoat offers affordable delicious brunch fares that is good for work lunches around here 🥹 I had the Scrambled Eggs on Toast ($8.50) which was pretty affordable considering the price of such brunch fare elsewhere. The scrambled eggs were very well done, as it was creamy and well seasoned. I also loved the stretchy cheese below, and the chewy sourdough. If you are in a bigger group, getting their truffle fries ($9) is a good idea as it was so big! The portion can easily be shared among 3-4 people. The shaved cheese on top is well appreciated but do note that the truffle taste is not so prominent. Fries were crispy, but not too fluffy inside. Quite decent but of course not the best! Their Iced Latte ($7) was also delicious, as it was strong, not too milky and of a medium roast. Not too acidic, it was a decent cup to enjoy! All in all, I would come back as their food items are value for money!

British Breakfast Platter / Truffle Tater Tots The flavourful and filling British breakfast platter makes a good hearty meal, consisting of a choice of egg (poached, scrambled, sunny-side up), bockwurst, sautéed cremini mushrooms, streaky bacon, tater tots, grilled tomato and sourdough. The scrambled eggs were fluffy, creamy and well-seasoned. Tater tots were well done, crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. The sausage was juicy while tomato and bacon were standard. The truffle tater tots are right on point with the truffle seasoning and generous shavings of parmesan cheese. The servings are huge and portions are large enough to share among 4 pax. It comes with a slight scent of truffle, retaining its crispy-crunchy exterior and soft interior. Overall, the food was great too & prices are much more affordable than many other cafes. Eggs Benedict & Truffle Tarter Tots Eggs Benedict (Ham) ($13) Saw this on tik tok and also passby a couple of times when I was at novena. Their egg benedict is not that bad but the sourdough bread was quite hard to cut. Most of the people order salmon version. I felt that the sauce was slightly sour tbh. Truffle Tarter Tots ($8) I didnt expected that their Tarter Tots to be quite big serving portion and didn't managed to eat finish so I bought home for reducing food waste also. But truffle was quite too strong but slightly salty tbh. It was quite crispy and crunchy when they served on hot.

HANDS DOWN FAV French toast 🍞 📍Clarke Quay u know it’s good when u nearly cried after finding out it closed down 😭😭😭 just wanna do a review anyway for the memories they have sweet & savory options for the French toast; I’ve tried both. The sweet one comes with lots of berries, the savory one has BACON STRIPS and yes I prefer the savory French toast! The bacon went really well with the sweetness of the maple syrup AND the toast itself was super fluffy and warm with a slight crisp on the outside. an absolute masterpiece. I’m honestly so sad it closed down 😭

Every So Often I come to ronin every so often (as the title indicates) and it’s kinda a hit and miss with the scrambled eggs. I used to think the scrambled eggs were like the best in Singapore because it was runny like the Gordon ramsay style (if you know you know). But these days, it’s only like that half the time. Mushroom, bread and drinks are still good tho.

Savoury French Toast Although its called Savoury French Toast, its more of a sweet and salty meal. The toast with butter and syrup is so yummy I wouldn’t mind if they just gave me more of that. At first I found the braised apple kinda weird, but it cuts through the oily and saltiness of the bacon so it becomes a cycle of sweet and salty which is nice.

Torta della nonna - Lots of pine nuts on top and within! - Taste was light with a prominent vanilla bean flavour, reminding me of a nougat which I enjoyed though it became a little one-dimensional after awhile. - Ricotta provided a mild milkiness, filling had a densely thick texture. - Crust was buttery sweet with a crumbly, biscuit-like bite similar to shortbread 🥧

May Weekend Special - Flourless Chocolate Lime Cake My Sunday got significantly better with Mother Dough’s May weekend special! Their Flourless Chocolate Lime Cake ($8) with a side of cream was very nicely done as well. The subtle zing from the addition of lime-infused cream was wonderfully refreshing and texture-wise was surprisingly airy. Fudgy and moist, the slice was not overly rich or cloying but best shared in my opinion as it was pretty chocolatey. 

May Weekend Special - Strawberry Rhubarb Morning Bun My Sunday got significantly better with Mother Dough’s May weekend special! Going straight for their Strawberry Rhubarb Morning Bun ($9), the crisp-flakey danish was so good. Filled with sweet-tangy Strawberry Rhubarb Jam, the pastry had a lovely Vanilla Custard hidden near the base - love the contrasting soft curd-like bites. The crunchy Pistachio Crumble was also very fragrant and nutty. Crowned with a soft Torched Cream Meringue, the buttery bake was simply yummy and superbly textured~

Sliced Cakes [~$7.50] These pulut hitam and milo sliced cakes are so good! Pillow soft chiffon with rich filling in between is definitely one of the best I had!

[11 Hamilton] - The Breakfast For Champs ($22) comes in a huge heart portion of Huevos Estrellados made with crispy potato cubes, jamon slices, scrambled eggs and runny yolk sauce to bind everything together. The dish is initially obscured by the mass of wild rocket which provides a bitter, nutty taste to the dish. . Gotta be one of our favourite cakes here @11hamiltonsg with those super fluffy and soft layers, much like a good chiffon cake. And their flavours were just our types, Orh Nee, Yakun and peanut butter yumminess. Extra points that they baked their own cakes in house. Instead of coffee, try their Dirty Chai latte that delivers in that strong spice fragrance, b’cos the milk was soaked in a generous portion of them. Matcha fans will also like that they carry the green tea from @matchayasg in their menu.
