Smoked Salmon With avocado & Egg $9 The plating is done rather appetizingly but once we tuck in, we can’t help but think that we’d rather DIY this dish. Hard boiled egg and avocado are slightly soggy (the mayo dressing sauce doesn’t help much).

gongbao chicken w/ salsa ($9) ordered the gongbao chicken with salsa and wholemeal ciabatta! it’s really good (maybe since i went after an exam 👅) and the flavours go really really well together. it’s really worth it and super filling too! would take this over subway any day 😍♥️

For Wholesome Food in Bishan Living in the heartlands, especially mature estates, it gets pretty annoying to have limited access to healthy food options. But I'm glad I've one close to home - just above Bishan bus interchange! The Wholefood Kitchen works by a simple DIY concept - simply select a base (brown rice, onion bagel, leafy salad and wholemeal wrap) to go with a protein. I loved that my salad was fresh and generous in amount, but the Lemongrass Grilled Tofu ($8) lacked flavour. The wholemeal wrap with Maple Mustard Tempeh ($10) fared better in terms of taste, and was equally wholesome. Do check the opening hours for the week on their Facebook page as the cook-cum-owner runs on a hectic schedule, and get ready to wait for it least 20 mins because there's only one person doing everything!

Bun Bo Hue For the Win! I always get their spicy beef noodle soup (Bun Bo Hue). It is absolutely delicious! I love Pho, but this soup really packs a punch. It will definitely leave you feeling full - awesome lunch pick. The broth is spicy and fragrant. Add extra chili oil if you like your face to sweat, lol.

Spicy Beef Stew Super generous with the beef Slices that were stewed till really tender. Unfortunately felt the soup was too salty and MSG filled.

Award Winning Mookata Highly recommended by a friend to try, the best mookata she ever had. Thai Hao Chi Mookata is just next to Springleaf MRT station exit. So convenient. Thai Hao Chi mookata uses charcoal, one of the few in Singapore that does. Tables were big and spacious. Ingredients were all fresh and I really enjoyed their marinated meats that were a burst of flavours, I enjoyed the chicken and pork more than the beef. What's rather unique here is that they serve bak hwa, which was very good and is a must try when u come here. Another must try side-dish when u are here, is the Thai style abalone. Can get very crowded on weekends, so please make reservations prior to arriving.

Suddenly craving for Mookata, so decided to go try Thai Hao Chi Mookata. They have 2 different timing for dinner, mine is 7.45. They only have one set menu, $39.9 for 2 pax , after that diners can top up other ingredients. I like the marinate pork, its tasty, the rest ingredients are pretty basic, and the soup quite robust, it will be better if the chilli more spicy. Recommended to call 8553 5581 before come down, coz they always full.

Charcoal mookata Service was fast and great. Rec the chicken the most as it was very well marinated. Should have more flavours of meat as the other ingredients were quite average. Soup was good and flavourful!

Fries (!Dragon) These fries are amazing 😍. Perfectly crispy french fries that aren't dry even though they are thin and are free from burns. Definitely the best fries I have ever eaten - salty, crisp, light and not greasy. Add some nacho cheese and shredded parmesan. Simply glorious 🧀🍟. - I believe Don.档 aren't selling the dragon fries anymore. We tried to get them but were told it has changed. Also, the price changed from $6->$8! Mentaiko Salmon Don Sous vide goodness salmon and egg 😍. The salmon is finished with a blowtorched yummy mentaiko mayo sauce. Also, the salmon steaks were soft, tender and moist, so do take note if you prefer your salmon firmer 🐟. The egg is perfect with that runny lava yolk and it just goes so well with the furikake on rice 🍳🍚. - This place is super affordable and value for money. Japanese donburis seem to be in trend nowadays and one value-for-money option would be Don.档 at Foch Road. At $9.90, this bowl of Salmon Mentaiko Don comes with a decent sized slab of Norwegian Salmon that has been sous-vide before topped with mentaiko and flame-torched, atop a bed of rice that has been sauced with teriyaki. Accompanying it is an onsen egg with runny yolk that is perfect as a rice mixture while the tangy pickled vegetable is a great compliment. However, I prefer my fish to have a firmer texture which I find this sous-vide salmon to be too soft for my liking and an additional touch of salt will do wonders to accentuate the natural flavours. truffle roasted garlic chirashi (23.80++) omg this was so tasty 😙 the crunchy garlic slices and the sauce underneath made the whole bowl so creamy and delectable without feeling ‘gelak’. fish was also really fresh and cut into reasonably sized cubes and slices. staff were also really friendly!

Grilled Unagi Chirashi Paying for the quality & quantity of the food here. Very fresh and good for sharing for the huge amount of portion. Worth it for gatherings.

Peaceful Cafe With Sufficient Space Feels very comfortable in this cafe with its large area. Lovin' their pork loin, costs $16 as this is their set meal and it includes soup of the day & single scoop ice cream. The latte costs $3 as its set price and you'll get 15% off if you order their cakes. Some said still too pricey for a cafe located in an industrial area but I'm happy with it for its special set price, large area & yummylicious pork loin (I'm not a pork lover though)...

This dish should be nicknamed "Johnny Storm" because... ... "Flame On!" ... ... I sense shudders going down people's spines. ANYWAY, the actual name of the dish is Flame Brandy Chicken, which fully describes it: 1. The waitress doused the half chicken that was sitting on a mash potato bed with brandy - A LOT of brandy 2. She then whipped out a lighter, told me to get my camera ready, and set the dish ablaze The flame of course was nowhere near to causing fowl play (here we go again), lasting a mere few seconds. I wish it had burned off more brandy, because the astringent or "siap siap" alcoholic taste was overpowering and affected the otherwise delicious meal. Set meals here are super economical, costing $20 or less which includes soup and ice cream, and discounted prices for beverages and cakes. The big space here can accommodate huge parties, but the downside is that it's located in the secluded Kallang industrial area.

Photogenic Food!! Baked potato skin and breakfast combo. Potato skin was cool! Tasted pretty good. Stuffed with bacon and cheese. Nice ambience in the cafe too, with korean pop playing.

Good vibes & good food (~$40/pax) The burgers here are great! Very juicy beef patties and soft buttery brioche buns. Good cocktails, and fries were flavourful and yummy. I think we really enjoyed the portobello, which is roasted mushrooms on toast (pictured in the middle)! ✨ratings: 8/10✨

Broc Party Roasted broccoli that’s topped with den miso mayo, parmesan, toasted cashew and chilli. What’s there not to like about this dish?

Truffle Scallop Pasta $26 for 3 of these. It is so good that the other 2 portions are in my tummy.

Roasted Red Bass [$28++] Fish was fresh and the potato with mushroom hash was great. Mushrooms were fragrant and the fried enoki added to the crunch! Enjoy this meal!

Pork Knuckle Portion was big considering the price vs others’. Very crispy cracking, but it was difficult to cut through the cracking though. This is compared to other places’ pork knuckle crackling. In Ng opinion, Not one of my favourites for pork knuckle.

Crispy And Soft Waffles The ice creams were okay and good tasting. The waffle sealed the deal and definitely must have, very crispy and made on the spot.

Thai Milk Tea And Earl Grey The best place for ice cream. Flavours are always strong. Texture is creamy but not too creamy. Made with real ingredients. Definitely my favourite ice cream place to go to!

Yakitori Salmon ($24) Kinda ex for salmon and rice, but the coconut rice was really fragrant and the Vietnamese caramel drizzled over the rice was interesting. Might skip this next time tho as it's not the most value-for-money imo!

Crabcake Egg Benedict $22 Nosh is the perfect hideout among lush greenery both on the outside and it's interior wallpapers. Rustic chill accompanied by food that lives up to its good looks makes for a return visit. If not for the humidity and heat, you may actually forget you're in singapore 😅
