During the day, the lunch menu features a selection of Cantonese favorites such as claypot rice, roast duck, char siew and crispy roast pork with rice or noodles and include a Chinese soup of the day served in a teapot, then poured into teacups.
Read about this Putu Piring stall at Haig Road Food Centre a few days ago via ieatishootipost on Instagram, where he claimed it one of the best Putu Piring around. It's not hard to see why; the rice flour held on well without disintegrating while encasing the gooey and sticky palm sugar in between. Worth every penny for that $2 spent for 5 pieces.
Best waffles ever! Even when the waffle was drenched in the melting ice cream, the waffle was still crispy! The ice cream tastes like natural horlicks! And because they took a while to prepare the waffles and I had to ask what was taking so long, one owner gave me an extra scoop of ice cream. The chocolate ice cream was rich and creamy and smooth! Best chocolate ice cream ever! For $9.90, it's worth every cent! And it has tons of almonds on it too :)
So looking forward to dinner tomorrow because I know I'll get to sink my teeth into one of these bee-yoo-tee-fool eggy tarts at the end of the meal. Teehee.
But before that, a dozen things to complete. åŠ æ²¹, me!
Total awesomeness on a plate! If a meat-lover like me can be seduced by this plate of toasted Turkish bread heaped with slabs of haloumi cheese, organic mushrooms, smashed avocado and a Japanese mustard called mizuna, you can imagine how dazzling it must be.
I wish the meat had been seasoned with a heavier hand, but the tender texture of this skewer was spot-on!

I first chanced upon Rubato when they opened around the Jalan Peminpin area. I never stepped in but business didn't look too promising. Stopping by at Greenwood for coffee and dessert after lunch at Violet Oon's, Rubato's majesty frontage caught my attention. Glad to see them doing much better. Will definitely be back some time to try their food!
Here is the Chocolate Fondant, Rubato's take on lava cake. What strikes me most about this dish is the clash between the sour Yuzu ice cream and the sweet chocolate lava cake. The tastes didn't exactly blend 'perfectly', but it was definitely intriguing and exciting enough to keep me going.

If you fancy coconut, taro and gula Melaka like myself, this is something to-die-for. 😛
Here's three popular Thai dessert: Mango Sticky rice, Red ruby and Lod Chong (similar to chendol). The mango sticky rice here is one the best I had, can't get enough of the fresh & thick coconut cream. 😛 Thank you @basilbythaiexpress for having me. So which is your favorite Thai dessert? #basilbythaiexpress
Either xiaomi redmo note 4g, 2D1N bali trip, or $100 zalora vouchers! Good luck! 😉 #nofilter #basilbythaiexpress #burpple #yummypin
