I wanted to have a piece of good cake, so I took nearly 30 minutes to find "Piece of Cake" bakery. I wanted to have a piece of good cake, so I took nearly 30 minutes to find "Piece of Cake" bakery. "Piece of Cake" sells only 7 cake flavours. The owner spent 2 years in Kyoto perfecting the skills, and the ingredients they used are top notched. Now, I can fully understand why people feel touched when they eat a good piece of cake. This is the softest roll that I have ever tasted and every mouthful just touched my heart. It is no wonder the Taiwanese said they have the best cake rolls in Taipei. Finding this quaint little cake shop is definitely an adventure. I got lost along the way, met a friendly high school teacher and a retired old man who guided me, and the helpful cake shop owner who is on the phone to give me directions. I guess this is the charm of travelling alone - exploring the beauty of the city with my footsteps...

Always have room for desserts especially after dinner! The Mango Mont Blanc is still as good, the La Boule Cerise (morello cherry & white choc mousse) and La Boule Chocolat (white choc mousse, pistachio & dark choc ganache) are so elegantly crafted! ☺️

Best macarons I have ever tasted! If Pierre Herme is better than this, I can't wait to have it! So tempted to buy a truckload of these home. Here are cinnamon & green apple and mango & coconut. Think I need to make a return trip to try the rest too.

Finally here in Hong Kong! Off to a wonderful start with this awesome bakery. Even if you don't eat here, the sight is filling enough! So many choices and we took so much time just to narrow our choice to just one (cos we need space for more food later). Macarons here are fantastic, pictures later. Egg Benedict . | Fully packed with locals and tourists (like us). So we had no choice but to squeeze in front of the counter seats. . | The coffee was not as good as expected and this Benedict was below expectation. The hollandaise sauce had the right thick texture but lacked of flavors. Even with the sliced zesty fruits, they didn't helped to complement the sauce. . | After some research, we found out that the main crew and boss had moved to another branch a few streets down. Their new outlet had much bigger seating capacity and the food there was more promising.

Latte (HKD 40) . | Smooth drawn latte with a fine heart. Sadly the bean was too "fresh" causing the latte to oxidized too quickly.
