Slightly Doughy But Crispy Churros Sinful food for the day but can't be bothered because I like it enough to devour the whole thing. I pretty much love the rendition of this churro. Oh, and I love love love the banana milk ice cream. This pairing is really, seriously unbeatable, especially if you're a fan of the Korean banana milk.

Peanut Tutu Kueh (3 For $2) Be careful! This comes out piping hot. You get to watch them make your tutu kueh on the spot. On the whole, it was a nice snack. Not too dry with just the right amount of peanut.

Pink Rose Tutu Kueh ($3/3 Pieces, $5/6 Pieces) Despite the huge printout of its newspaper feature which loudly touts their famous traditional tutu kueh, these pink rose ones fell short of expectations. First of all, the tutu kueh-maker running the cart confessed that the pink was merely colouring. Secondly, the flour was annoyingly dense and overly sweet, sticking to the crevices of my teeth with each chew. The only redeeming feature was the peanut filling 😢

Last weekend went lunch Nakajima Suisan Grilled Fish, located at basement Takashimaya. We went before 11.30, and we queue for 45 mins. It’s very crowded, and the direction of the queue a bit misleading. So customer should pay first, get buzzer and when the buzzer is ring, mean we can get the seat n the food will served to us. We ordered halibut and unagi set. Both of us prefer Halibut more. The fish fresh, grill till skin was light crispy, the flesh moist and tender. Favourite Dessert! Everytime we're around suntec this is a go to for dessert! Their toast is so crispy and soft at the same time and I love the big scoop of Thai tea ice cream. Definitely a staple for time to come. Yums.

Grand Poobah? More Like Grand WHOO-bah Amirite Today in yet another tragic disaster, Hungry Bazterdz has officially shut down till June, and they'll reopen somewhere along Arab Street then. Of course, I can't miss out on the experience of having sinful sandwiches just below my office for one last time, so there I was with a Grand Poobah in hand. For just ten bucks, due to HB's awesome moving out sale. This time, I elected to pile on all that delectable pulled beef and caramelized onions that had been braised for six hours in au jus onto two thick slices of sourdough bread instead, and boy was I satisfied. I'm not sure if the Grand Poobah has gotten better since the last time I devoured it last year, but it sure tasted like it! There was a strong note of sweetness that wasn't there the last time, which accentuated the stellar beefy savoriness of the massive mound of meat between the sourdough. The sourdough was definitely a better pick over the usual hoagie roll, and the crustiness of the crust (sorry, I couldn't dig up another description) contrasted the softness and tenderness of the beef pleasantly, while the soft chewy dough gave a little resistance to the otherwise all-too compliant pulled beef (that's a good thing, mind you), and managed to stay relatively un-soggy until I finished savoring every last morsel of the Grand Poobah. Now that's what I call going out in style.

Wanted to have a healthy lunch but it was @hungrybazterdz's last day at Arcade and at $10nett for all sandwiches, I just had to get my hands on them for the first, and possibly last time 😢 wanted to order the famed Mighty Cheese Steak, but guess what, it was sold out just after 12pm! Settled for 2nd best, which was really fine as all - the Grand Poona, which was a toasted baguette stuffed with lots and LOTS of deliciously tender 6hr braised beef pulled and sautéed in jus. Savoury waffles Stack of waffles with candied bacon 🥓 and a scoop of ice cream. Extremely indulgent start to the day. The waffles were crisp yet fluffy (thankfully) and therefore eased off some of the heaviness which would have came along with the candied bacon and ice cream (a lil’ too sweet for the morning!) Nevertheless, a good meal of savoury and sweet delights!

Ondeh ondeh hotcake [$15] After the descent of Earl grey charcoal hotcake, ondeh ondeh hotcake is back on the menu once again! ✨ Pandan flavoured hotcake embedded with salted coconut ricotta creme, topped with Pandan coconut gelato, sprinkled with toasted coconut flakes and served with a side of gula melaka sauce. A deconstructed and revamped version of the Peranakan kueh that we are all familiar with, the hotcake was soft, fluffy with a slightly crisp surface layer that carries off a lingering aromatic pandan essence and fragrance. The texture was done to an ideal perfection- soft, light and sufficiently moist 💖. Unfortunately the salted ricotta creme got outshone by the distinct Pandan essence, harbouring a negligible effect to the overall flavour unless you were to consume it in silo. The colour of the Pandan coconut gelato got me turned off initially with an artificial shade of neon green but fortunately the taste did not disappoint, a pleasant sweetness of coconut that was also refreshing though the texture could have been better if it was smoother and less icy. The toasted coconut flakes added a crisp, fibrous mouthfeel to the hotcake, a complimentary and perfect pairing to the hotcake, where the resemblance to ondeh ondeh kicks in. Peanut butter & Jelly French Toast [$15] . And so... today marks the end of @artistrycafesg ‘s service and operations 👋🏻😭. Apart from the brunch, one thing I would miss most is this French Toast that surprisingly far exceeded my expectations, officially one of the best I have ever had (apart from @sarabethsofficial that I tried in Taiwan). Had initially wanted to try it last weekend, but it was already sold out by 12pm😭. Came back on a Friday afternoon (and reserved this just in case) which certainly did not disappoint, to which both my dining and I enjoyed it truly, polishing it off in no time, although she doesn’t even have a sweet tooth in the first place, unlike me. The brioche toast soaked in spiced custard was soft, fluffy with a pillowy texture that is filled with peanut butter and raspberry jam. A nutty, roasted flavour and aroma coupled with a subtle tartness from the fruity jam, it was clearly a winning combination that surprisingly didn’t turn out to be overwhelming or saccharine as expected! 💖 Served with a scoop of vanilla bean ice cream that was smooth, creamy with a fragrant milky flavour, the addition of the mixed berry coulis provided a tinge of acidity; a good counter balance to the other sweeter elements. Pork ribs stew 🥘 Squid & leek pancake 🦑 Always craving for pork ribs stew from masizzim!! Both the soy and spicy taste good and it’s a must order! Used to really like the squid and leek pancake because it’s crispy but nowadays it’s a tad too oily for my liking. Pork ribs stew and pancake are more than enough for 2 pax to share (around $18.50 each after ++) because the stew comes with choice of noodles (glass noodles/udon) and a bowl of rice. Queue is still v long during dinner and weekends but not crowded during weekday lunch.

Wonderful experience! Had a wonderful experience at Masizzim last week. Had the bulgogi and their beef stew. The stew was absolutely filled with flavors and I couldn't help but had to get a second portion of it. Ambience and service was really good as well!

Lunch Experience Dining at Masizzim Have ordered the pork rib stew to go along with the Bimbimbap for a lunch meetup with my friend. The pork rib portions were really generous and the meat was fresh and succulent. Had a really full and nutritious meal there as the broth was rich and spicy. Definitely a good place for a quick lunch meetup with friends. 10/10 :)

Matcha Bingsu It has been a while since I had a matcha bingsu ($15.90) and decide to try. I feel that the ingredients such as red bean and matcha powder became lesser. I guess it can't be help that they have to cut cost without increasing the price. Also, I liked that it charge nett price

Change in serving size, still taste good! We love frequenting omaspoon for dessert at 313 Somerset but I’m not sure what happened in the last few months… price has risen slightly but the size has shrunk significantly as you can see from the funny shape (used to be mountain shaped) - injeolmi flavour still tastes wonderful though!
