Bulgalbi MVP 6.5nett Take note it's a patty, not sliced beef. The eggs were the true MVP, as they were fluffy and contributed to the texture. Don't request to remove the chili sauce and tomato, they were carrying the flavours. There's some Isaac sauce slathered on the toast but it was a thin layer, really can't taste it at all. Overall it's still a really feel good sandwich, I enjoyed it though I won't say it's special.

Ham & Cheese Ham & Cheese ($4.50) consisted of ham, cheese and egg filled with corn. I felt that the bread was less toasted compared in the past and it was quite dry aftertaste. But ingredients (ham, cheese and egg filled with corn) were quite having same standard in the past.

Chicken Bulgogi A La Carte(6.50) Have been wanting to try out this famous korean chain of sandwiches for a very long time and i am so glad they have it in sg. Excellent and fast service. Bread was crispy and nicely toasted and came with a generous amount of fillings. I was expecting it to be chicken bulgogi(real meat) but instead is was just a chicken patty. Nevertheless, it was still delicious and filling. However, the cheese they use is very strong and has a bad smell. Luckily the ingredients made up for it. I would have expected some real meat for the price. Other than that, everything is delicious and fine

Corn fritters Poached eggs, grilled halloumi, spinach, tomato salsa, hummus, hollandaise. Okok, Abit oily, they have other better dishes.

Iberian Pork Rack Pork Rack, grilled baby cos, kipfler potato, bone marrow sauce. Meat is super soft, goes well with their sauce as well. Not salty.

newly opened at Anchorvale Village! Queues are always snaking for their har cheong gai chicken🍗🍗 Since you've already waited so long, you might as well go all out and get Set B ($7.70) which consists of a humongous juicy cutlet, aromatic rice and a perfect sunny side-up🍳

Har Cheong Gai Rice This return visit was a lot more positive. I enjoyed the juicy and fragrant wings much more. Maybe because no queue?

Sourdough Loaf - Field ($9) This was one of the best sourdoughs I’ve had! It’s chewy but not till the point of a jaw ache, with a well-balanced flavour. A quick search of ‘firebake’ on my telegram chats would show that “I think firebake’s one is v nice/the best/rly good” 🤪 Pictured is a slice slathered with Tasmanian walnut butter, but I eat it plain as well, because it’s that good. I’m really sad that they have ceased operations, thank you Firebake for the great sourdough! :)

Cheesymite [$4.50] Big, flaky, buttery. Would love for the vegemite adn cheese taste to be more pronounced though.

Rustic Chicken Pie [$12] Pie had chunks of chicken mixed with the vegetables, though the mushroom was kind of lacking. We were quite disappointed upon cutting the pie open as it wasn't nicely filled. It was too salty for our tastes as well. Tbvh - personally, would prefer the old school chicken pie.

Spicy Oil Dumplings (⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️) Love a good coffee shop hidden gem, such as this Xin Peng La Mian at the recently refurbished Bistro 8 at Blk 442 (opposite the 448 market)! Saw several reviews that the Spicy Red Dumplings here are a must try and they really didn’t disappoint - these dumplings are so huge and meaty and only at $5 for a plate of 10! The meat filling texture is less compact and more similar to what you’d get in XLB but it sure is packing with flavor and juices! The sauce was decent with a good vinegary kick but slightly lacking in the heat department, though you can add more chili (Lao Gan Ma) on your own.

Chicken Chop La Mian (⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️) Always on a lookout for a good noodle dish as a self-professed noods lover, and the huge portion of Chicken Chop La Mian ($5) left me in a food coma towards the end LOL. The hand-pulled noodles were cooked well with a decent chew and the cutlet was not too oily, but I felt that the meat sauce was somewhat underwhelming. Honestly if not for the little traces of minced meat, I didn’t know it was minced meat sauce lmao.

Handpulled Noodles & Dumplings XLBs ($4): their xlbs were larger than average, juicy and the skin wasn’t too thick tho it broke quite easily once picked up. not the best but v decent considering the price! fried dumplings ($5): initially found it off-putting how these dumplings were completely fried but they actually taste quite good!! crispy on the outside yet retaining the juiciness of the filling, which they were generous with. five spices beef la mian soup ($4.50): would advice to just skip this…. a plus is that they are generous with the beef slices which were quite tender but the entire dish is so bland, someone pls pass me the salt 😩
