I can't believe I missed it while I've been living in the west side over 2 years!
Having read so many praises about ENAQ around the web, I was so excited to try them and the taste lives up to its reputation. I had Egg prata ($1.70) and Cheese prata ($2.0), and it was like no other prata I have had in SG so far. The dough is fantasitc - fluffy and crispy! I think I can enjoy them even without the curry. Made to order, the pratas literally melted in mouth and the sambal chilli sauce was cherry on the top.
I arrived around 5.20pm and only waited like 5 mins. Main meals like Nasi Goreng only starts at 6pm.

I made a trip to ABC Brickworks last Saturday and arrived around 8pm, and it was so easy to find where Jin Jin Dessert was located because of the long queue! The queue of 10-15 people still existed even at 9pm, which normally would beat the dinner crowd. The stall looked to be free only after 9.30pm. But since this is a dessert stall, queues moves pretty fast and I don't think the waiting time would exceed 30 minutes even during the peak hours. The price for various kinds of dessert starts from $1.50. Super cheap! I read many reviews saying that thier must-try desserts are Super Chendol and Ice Gangster(both $2.0), but gave up the latter as I don't like a durian....
I ordered Super Chendol $2.0 for myself and fell in love with it as soon as I tried one mouthful of the ice and coconut milk♡ This is something that I can only find in Singapore. Never saw this kind of dessert in Korea before. It could look similar to 'bingsu', which is a popular Korean traditional dessert, as both are served in the form of ice + syrup + many other ingredients to add-on by choice. However the combination of the brown syrup and coconut milk is only available here in South East Asia, and they make chendol distinctive from bingsu. I'll surely be visiting for their Power Chendol soon!

A stall named Tokyo at Ayer Rajah Food Centre serves grilled fresh seafood such as sotong(squid), prawns and oyster. The price starts from $6.00 for Oyster omelette (Small) and $8.00 for Grilled Squid (Small), and they also come at medium/large size. I ordered the small squid to share with my mom, and the sotong was surprisingly SOFT! I could still felt the joy of chewing sotong but the texture was really tender and easy to bite. The spicy seasoning was so well absorbed into the sotong and the combination of the spiceness and sotong went just perfect with Tiget beer. I also tried a takeaway for Grilled Sotong but the taste didn't impress me as much as deliscious it was on the spot. I think the best way to enjoy their menu is to visit the stall and eat BBQ at the place itself. Additionally, the prices look slightly high for a hakwer stall and the portion is not up to that price.

It is just 3 mins from my place! I looked for some reviews about the food centre and saw this stall has been run for a long long time, especially famous for Mee Goreng, and some foodie bloggers wrote positive reviews on it.
Takeaway with sunny side-up egg was only $4.50 and the portion was unbelievably generous. The noodle was springy and so much well seasoned by the red and spicy sauce. I quite liked their Mee Goreng and was satisfied. Yet, I feel Indian style Mee Goreng is not my cup of tea. I might not go for it again as there should ne a lot more food to explore in Singapore. However it was certainly a worth meal. Anyway the price is only $4.50, what would I lose?!

Four Season Chendol
Address: Lorong 8 Toa Payoh Hawker Centre Menu: Ice Chendol ($2.00)
Taste: 4.5/5.0
Price: 5.0/5.0

I was searching for nice hawker stalls around Toa Payoh when I had to visit that area for some errands.
And from #burpple, I read there is a famous stall for ice dessert at Lorong 8 Toa Payoh. Desipte fairly long distance from Toa Payoh MRT, almost 20mins walk - and next to the famous Melbourn Seafood! - I did want to give it a try while I was in that area, not only I never heard or tried such a dessert before but also it is very rare for me to make a trip to the north part of the island😂
There was no queue around this stall when I arrived around 7.20pm but I couldn't help noticing that almost every table at Lorong 8 Hawker Centre was having this Chendol!
I loved the exotic taste (well I'm not a Singaporean so it is exotic haha) of the brown sauce, and every bite was amazing. Sweet but yet not too much of sweetnees, and the red beans help to ease the sweet flavour from coconut milk. The portion was generous and just perfect for 1 pax. It is certainly some kind of happines that $2.00 can ever bring in Singapore. Today I discovered new taste of Singapore, yay 🙂

Maybe I made wrong choices? Conveneintly located at Clementi Blk 320, which is less than 5 minutes walk from Clementi MRT, Prata Planet is a casual dining place that offers various kinds of Indian cusines from prata to mee goreng.
I stopped by Prata Planet for my dinner today, after learning it is one of the famous prata places in Singapore. How did I miss out this place being in my vicinity while I've been staying in Clementi almost 2 years?!😂 I know it is well-known for its prata but I didn't feel like having it and was looking for something new Indian dish that I never tried before. So I decided to go for Chicken Murbarak($7.50) and added Mushroom Malasa (small $3.50) for using as dipping sauce. With no surchage for takeaway, the total bill came at $11.00nett. Hmm not a bad deal considering the size of the murbarak, but I got pretty disappointed when I finally tried them at home. Filled with onions and shredded chicken meat marinated with mustard, the murbarak was way too dry and I couldn't help thinking I should have ordered something different. The taste was nothing special and honestly I didn't finish the whole portion - only 3/4 of it, and I knew I didn't want any more of it. The Mushroom Malasa was quite okay, though. For price wise, it is quite expensive than humble stalls or normal Indian-Muslim food centre. It looks like their prices increased by 20-30% than a few years back, as the prices were different from some old blog postings that I read on the internet. I may not revisit it...:( #burpple #sgfoodie #sgfood #singaporefood #burppleSG #foodstagram #indianfood #singaporefood #singaporefoodie #foodporno #lifeislalala #싱가포르 #먹스타그램 #인도음식
It may be difficult to find the way up to the rooftop restaurant without asking the direction to security guards. I never imagined there would be such a big restaurant somewhere in Mustafa Centre! No, I didn't even know there was level 7 in this 24-hour shopping centre. I dined in with two friends and all of us felt lost by a wide variety of their menu, so we ordered a lot of dishes to give a try to as many kinds of foods as possible. The staff were very friendly and well-trained: every time we asked about the menu and dishes, they provided kind and professional suggestions. The butter chicken curry was a perfect match with the garlic naan. Can't remember the name of the menu but the green-coloured curry is for a vegetarian with cheese. It was unexpectedly good too! And the BBQ grilled sea bass (or another kind of fish, sorry I can't remember :P) and the samosa (Indian snack that is a fried dish with a savoury filling) were just another joy that were surprisingly nice. Maybe I was so satisfied with their food that night because I seldom try those unfamiliar Indian or Pakstan cusine. Anyway it was a happy night-out!

Budget: $10~15 per pax
I have been living in Clementi area for almost one and a half year and was always hunger for a nice Korean restaurant as Korean BBQ buffets or hawker centres were the only options for Korean food in this area. Imagine how much delighted I was when I saw Jinjja Chicken ('jinjja' means 'real' in Korean) was opened here at The Clementi Mall! At only $8~$11 nett per pax, Jinjja Chicken provides casual Korean dishes of good quality such as yangneum chicken wings, jjamppong or jjajangmyeon or bibimbop. Of course I don't expect as the same quality as I would be able to find in Seoul at that price but their foods are pretty satisfying even to a native Korean like me, considering Singapore's infamous cost of living. I love Monster Jjamppong Set, which comes with super spicy jjamppong(a lar carte at $9.90 nett)+french fries+soft drink at only $11.90 nett. The spiciness of this menu is supposed to be brutally spicy so it is named as 'Monster', but I feel it is not THAT spicy and still bearable level of spiciness to spicy-lovers like me. The quality of the noodle inside jjampong seems random - sometimes it is nicely done while I have also encountered overcooked noodles on a day with bad luck? Haha....the generous portion of seafood and vegetables such as squid, clam and onion should be enough to fulfill one adult's hunger along with the noodle and soup. The broth, to which red chili oil adds rich flavour, is so addictive that I think I'll stick to the jjampong for a while when I go down to Jinjja Chicken for Korean food. The french fries served for the set option is not very outstanding, just normal fries. One bowl of spicy jjampong can be a nice cure for a hangover morning :D
P.S: The translation in Korean for 'NO PETS ALLOWED' is wrong :P
