Tiger Prawn Aglio Olio ($19.90++) They used angel hair pasta. The pasta is quite spicy as it is drizzled with chilli oil. The prawns are very big but slightly overcooked. Quit tough to bite. Still a goos plate of pasta.

Mushroom Soup ($7.90++) The soup is very nice. It is very creamy. The croutons are crunchy. There are are also mushroom bits in it.

One Last Hurrah Before Moving To A New Home Artichoke will be moving into a new home soon, and the last day of operations in the current Middle Road restaurant will be on 22 March. If you have a reservation from now till then, good on you! If not, shame on you but they will continue slaying with the New Bahru community from May. Till then, peace out and see you on the other side of Singapore!

Green Harissa Prawns And at the mention of their bread ($4.80/ Bag of Bread), the Green Harissa Prawns ($38) were wonderfully seasoned. That tantalising green harissa enriched sauce/oil with split cream and burnt onions packed a nice heated punch so you would really need that extra warm dough to wipe it all up~ The prawns are also plump and sweet.

Mezze Platter As good as I remembered them to be, Artichoke’s hummus is a must so I got their Mezze Platter ($28) for lunch. Plated with miso hummus with pomegranate, beetroot hummus with sesame seeds, Greek chickpea salad, refreshing greens, tangy pickles and bread; the 3 mezzes of the day were great to share for two. Smooth and creamy, the savoury miso hummus was bomb diggity but the vibrant beetroot dip was an absolute delight - both perfectly moreish and bangin’ when paired with their pillowy-doughy bread.

Hot Plate Squid I usually go for their hot plate meats or the yukgaejjang at Kim Dae Mun but Miss K was craving for sotong so bopian 😝😝😝 We like that their squid are thick cut so there is a nice bite to each squid ring. It is also perfectly executed as the squid was tender yet chewy. The sauce was definitely more spicy than the sauce used for their hot plate chicken and pork but paired really well with the squid. Its a tad more expensive than their meat options but a good alternative if you are looking for something different!

Japchae Glass Noodle A well-made Japchae should have a balanced sweet and savoury flavour with slices of meat, crunchy vegetables and a chewy sweet potato noodle texture. The ones here were not too bad, and the texture of the noodles was on point except the sauce is a little too sweet to my liking 》$6.50

Fried Dumplings Juicy mandu with a healthy amount of pork and vegetables inside with a not-too-thick and nice crispy bite on the skin 》$4

try the makgeolli!!!! we had the GREEN GRAPE MAKGEOLLI ($22 - 500ml) and HONEYCOMB MAKGEOLLI ($29 - 500ml). The honeycomb that came with the latter helped to make the makgeolli sweeter and more drinkable, but the drink itself was alr v smooth!

army stew ($24) looked small but actually had a LOT of ingredients!

Service lacking graciousness very confusing Burpple Beyond rules for this establishment, so we clarified w the waitress, who told us that the tacos were 2 for 1, that the pair of more expensive tacos would be charged. But when we made payment, it turned out that we were informed wrongly. Yet, the cashier on duty did not give us the 1-for-1 as the waitress had initially told us. Extremely disappointed with their lack of graciousness in recognizing their own error

Crab Tostadas Crab Tostadas ($18/ 2pcs): On two crispy corn tortillas, the fresh blue swimmer crab, jalapeño, cilantro and mayo combo really turned up the heat. The staff did warn us about the mint and lime mayo being spicy, so indeed it was. Love the plump chunks of crab, which tasted fresh and sweet; I think the flavourful yet refreshingly bright minty sauce helped counter any possible unpleasant briny flavour.

Beef Quesadillas Beef Quesadillas ($19) Yummy but strangely resembles a well-seasoned murtabak?! The spiced, flavourful pulled beef brisket was super tender and very complementary to the melted mixed cheese, chipotle, savoury salsa ranchero, and pickled onion filling. The flour tortillas were crisp and nicely toasted, too.

Baja Fish Tacos Baja Fish Tacos ($12/ pcs): On a soft gluten-free corn tortilla, the crispy fried barramundi came with slaw and chili mango salsa. We opted for the sauce to be on the side as the staff explained that it would be quite spicy, which it was. The tangy, tantalising sauce was best added bit by bit for me. Love the flaky, fresh, succulent fish and the thin, crunchy, golden-brown batter but $12 for one was an ouch.

Good vibes & good food (~$40/pax) The burgers here are great! Very juicy beef patties and soft buttery brioche buns. Good cocktails, and fries were flavourful and yummy. I think we really enjoyed the portobello, which is roasted mushrooms on toast (pictured in the middle)! ✨ratings: 8/10✨

Broc Party Roasted broccoli that’s topped with den miso mayo, parmesan, toasted cashew and chilli. What’s there not to like about this dish?

Old School Unique way of serving the dishes, in a mini pan! Even though it looks small, but its very filling. The price & food is goo, will def come back for more!

Finally the pop up 'Paella Place by Churros Factory' is opened, right below my office! They will only be here for a few months, so do try their paella with local fusion such as Beef Rendang. Because I only spotted them after my lunch, U couldn't resist the churros temptation. You can get both the classic flavour and Ondeh flavour here, if not you can head over to @orchardcentral for more flavours. Had the 6 pcs Ondeh Ondeh Churros ($9) with Gula Melaka dip served separately. Though it took quite a while, the churros were prepared fresh and it was so crispily hot! Simply enjoyed the rich gula melaka sauce, though they can add more coconut flakes on top of the churros 😂 Ok time to grow fat, with a convenient dessert option anytime during work 🙈

Roast Beef Located in Claymore Connect, Muddy Murphy’s about a 15 minutes walk or a 14 minutes bus ride away from Orchard MRT. They have been around for many years and still maintains its classic vintage look. Felt like I was brought out of Singapore! On both occasions that I visited, I had their Roast beef which was consistent and good, accompanied with the Yorkshire puddings (which are of different qualities on both my visits) . It’s also one of the few places in Singapore that serves Shepherd’s pie with minced lamb meet! Love the authenticity. Between the apple pie and apple crumble, I prefer the Apple crumble. It has different layers of textures and isn’t too sweet. If you are looking for a set meal, go for a Sunday Roast! Lobster bisque is part of the menu too! Top it up with a few pints of beer to complete the experience. Definitely is yes, to going back !

Weekday Lunch Deal I love their lunch deal as it always come in generous portion. Tasty food with affordable prices make it my favorite Irish bar in town. However don’t expect a wide range of choices for their lunch deal as they usually only have 1-2 types.

Christmas Roast Turkey with 3 big slices of breast and 2 stuffed boneless thigh medallions. Found the breast quite tough although the portion was generous. The thigh was better but my Brit friend ate all the breast meat on her plate and didn't really touch the thigh meat. Gravy was traditional and winter vegetables were nice. I asked for extra cranberry sauce as i like it on everything and they were pleasant to bring me more. All that for $28. You can request Yorkshire pudding as an extra, $3!

🎶So baby~ Why don’t you just MEAT me at the middle~🎶 If you’re a meat lover, this Brotzeitplatte ($98++) from @brotzeit.sg, which is their classic Brotzeit Platter with Pork Schnitzel, is bound to delight you! 😍😍😍 This is especially for the pork lovers - fret not those who can’t take gamey meats like beef & lamb - everything here on the plate are ‘safe’! 👌🏻 . Stealing the show (& also standing & proud in the middle of the platter) is their signature Crispy Over-Roasted Pork Knuckle! 💕 Beautifully roasted to the perfect crisp on the exterior, cutting it unveils a huge chunk of meat that is very well-seasoned! 🤤🤤🤤 While some areas (especially those near the exterior) could have been more succulent, the inner ones were definitely moist & tender! 👍🏻 Liked that it was not too oily so it was really rather delish. Of course, the thick crackling skin with the perfect crunch was the highlight! 🔥 . No German meal is complete without German sausages! 🌭 Here you ae treated to a selection - spicy chicken 🌶, pork cheese 🧀 (my favourite as it was oozing cheese!), Nurnberger & Thuringer (pork sausages marinated with different herbs & spices). Sink your teeth into their schnitzel, which features 2 lightly-battered pieces of lean pork chop. 🐖 Goes well with the plethora of accompanying sauces. 😋 . The platter is served with 2 sides of your choice, of which we chose the Oven-roasted Cherry Tomatoes 🍅🍅🍅, & the Seasonal Vegetables with Thyme (mainly the tri-coloured bell peppers). ✌🏻 If you are going all out with a cheat meal, you can opt for their spicy potato wedges or rosti 🥔, or even top up $2++ for their Truffle Mashed Potato or Truffle Fries.🍟 . We also added a serving of Sauerkraut (Braised White German Cabbage, $6++) 😋, whose tangy flavours helped to balance out the heaviness of the meats. 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 . Certainly good for sharing! 💯 Spent a great night chatting with my boss & colleagues over these meats, beers & fruit teas. 🍻 Thanks boss for the treat! ❤

Brotziet platte $108++ For 4-6pax Loads of food, for the sides I got Rosti which is very good! And topped up $2 for truffle fries. The ribs were very tough, the pork knuckle skin was very crisp and the meat was flavourful. For the sausages, one of them was very spicy.
