The filing is juicy and rich with lots of foie gras flavor. Personally, I think dipping in the vinegar overpowers it and it's better by itself but you can experiment and decide for yourself!

Creamy with intense peanut flavor balanced with tart raspberry (maybe some of it was freeze dried?), this was so delightful that it disappeared during a (literally 2 minute) trip to the little girl's room. I have suspicions but no one confessed. Glutinous rice dumplings (think mochi) with Mao Shan Wan (that's a particularly prized variety of durian) with gula melaka (Asian cousin of salted caramel)... it was my toddler's first taste of durian and he just kept taking bites... even the durian-phobe hubby ate a whole one! I'm a rare person who neither loves nor hates durian but I thought this dessert was pretty darn tasty all the same...

whoa does this lil dish pack a whammy! Cinnamon crepes stuffed with melted dark chocolate topped with bacon ice cream... chocolate cake! Adorable presentation and infinitely more fun to look at than eat, the chocolate cake with chestnut icing was far from the best I've had but the "tofu", made from panna cotta, was quite excellent and served with a "dashi" of chilled tea. Amazing idea to use matcha pocky pieces to imitate scallions!
