Changing V BBQ house. Subject to availability. 3 for $10. Local sea catch. Hahaha!
French toast with braised apple, bacon and hazelnut maple syrup - unique combination. Pretty appetizing but a little too sweet towards the end. Good for sharing though. The mocha was minted, chocolate was too overpowering, tasted more like a chocolate drink rather than a coffee BUT then I'm not saying that it's bad. You'll probably like it if you like chocolate, just that it doesn't satisfy my coffee cravings. To justify my actions - you've to order the specialty when you're there right???? I'll definitely be back but it's too dark over there to take a pretty photo!!!
There's almost nothing better than a hot, sticky bowl of porridge to comfort your belly late at night. Eating at Ah Chiang's gives you the option of ordering side dishes such as fresh sliced raw fish, extra century eggs, raw eggs, and best of all, extra you tiao! Daniel Food Diary says "Comfort food on a cold night is cantonese charcoal cooked Ah Chiang porridge"
All time fave supper favorite that can't go wrong!
Probably the most famous place to get murtabak in Singapore, this century-old restaurant serves up some massive murtabaks. Adding an extra kosong prata at the base and additional minced mutton on top, this murtabak needs to be shared (or not, if you're a big eater). Go for the chicken, full flavoured, well-spiced and tender, or the deer if you're adventurous! If you're sharing, go ahead and order some briyani too. Photo by edwyn c.
Fancy some saucy kinda chicken? This is it. Bought the Swicy Flavoured chicken. I couldn't figure out what swicy was until my fiance said it was sweet chilli. Maybe? I dunno. Well it was kinda sweet, too sweet though. Didn't have the chilli taste. I would rather order a super freaking hot one. Oh yah, have to wear gloves ah while eating the chicken. But pathetic la, 1 glove per meal. And wet tissue also not very generous. The shoestring fries was like curly fries but straight. Get it? And the pickled radish i wouldn't dare try. Smells funny. All this with a regular drink cost me $7.90. Okay2 la. Must try other flavours i think.
Open till 12am, good place to chill till midnight in Toa Payoh. Overall felt that the food is mediocre. No particular stall to rave about.
