I enjoyed the pizzas almost as much as I enjoyed watching this guy work!
It's buttery peanut filling is such a contrast to that crunchy shell that makes this one satisfying meal ender. I must say that had like 4 pieces of this 😋
@jeannaye you can celebrate now!
It's a combination of good texture, friendly parmesan cheese sauce and enticing black truffle.
The pork lard takes no prisoners, turning this unassuming dish into a legit winner. York Hotel's Penang Hawker Buffet is hitting all the notes with me. Last few days, and it's walk-in only so go early!
I LOVE the sauce, a simple tomato and basil oregano mixture that pulls just a tinge of that flavour from the seafood in the pan to give an aftertaste of the sea. Chef Luca's memories of his mama certainly serve him well here, as he dishes out wholesome hearty meals based off the recipes she created at home in Bergamo.
The Wagyu meatball told the Mozzarella.
Honestly? This Wagyu meatball on the Villaggio di Bergamo Pizza($28++) was impressive. Subtle seasoning, robust beef flavour and a nice amount of fat.
This is part of the iconic, quality-focused Penang Hawker Fare that's been going on for decades at York Hotel's White Rose Cafe.
Oyster aside, I fell in love with the deep flavour of that Penang Laksa, and the crispness of the Roti Canai 😍
The Hawkers are flown in from Penang, so this will happen till 25th March only, and at $29++ for weekdays and $33++ for weekends, IT IS A STEAL.
If you need to, start out by charging a dollar or two more if that allows you to give good food!
This Gyudon is flavoured by a sauce that's subpar, and topped with very little beef.
Here's an alternative: give less rice, focus on cooking the beef right, and give customers just 50g more beef.
It was full-house when I went, but the pre-packed broth and the lacklustre food didn't deserve this attention.
Maine lobster bun, chunky fries and a Malbec to bookend a great day!
Close.
Runny egg, flavourful chicken, delicately tasty koshihikari rice. 😍
Soft and nice rice, flavour of the chicken is right, but maybe a little too many onions for me. Not that I'm complaining 😊
