spotdotph Top 10 Batchoy. TED'S OLDTIMER LA PAZ BATCHOY landed number 4. Ted's name after founder Teodorico Lapura started a stall at the public market in La Paz in 1945. Aside from 9 other kinds of Batchoy, there's the Extra Super Batchoy. Ted's has a simple but savory broth that doesn't overwhelm, with a hint of sweetness and garlic. Comes with strips of pork and chicken as well as liver and intestines, and as a final touch, crunchy bits of homemade chicharon. (P88)
