Superfood afternoon with this yummy bowl
of nutbutter acai packed with roasted nuts, toasted crispy granola, almond nut butter and chiaseed pudding at the bottom. The combination of nutty goodness sweetsour acai and crunchy bits coming together in one mouthful has no words for me to describe except if food heaven exists let this be on its forever menu😋

Original and Matcha Burnt cheesecake by KeongSiakBakery is the best Burnt cheesecake around. Just the right amount of char cream and sweetness it hits the spot in this depressing time of CoVid virus
Although these two flavours didn’t practice social distancing I think we wont complain this time
In Australia smashed avocado is de rigeur for brunch 😜. Urban Grounds cafe serves their version with peas tomatoes and dukkah with a perfectly poached egg in good company with the whole dish. The balsamic reduction added a tangy sweetness to the brunch party and the sourdough mopped up every drop on the plate
This rustic quaint cafe sits next to a scented garden designed specially for the visually handicapped which i found to be such a civic socially inclusive move by the town. The vibe here was chilled and quiet but let this not fool you into thinking their food is mediocre, as they menu is extensive and delicious as far as aussie grub goes.
Coffee was decent and waitstaff polite and friendly
In the quaint town of Toowoomba this kick-ass turkish restaurant serves really good food and a great authentic Turkish Delight
A creamy base of rice pudding supports milky smooth vanilla ice cream infused with Turkish delight jubejubes with a decorative crown of cotton candy.. served looking like a princess
We were mesmerised lock stock and barrel and enjoyed this tremendously
If you’re ever in Toowoomba make a beeline for this restaurant and have one of the best Turkish cuisines around
A substantial tasty thick medium done steak accompanied by mustard harmonised perfectly with sourdough bread that filled up the man’s tummy happily
Priced reasonably at $20 we had no regrets ordering it
It wasn’t fatty, tough or greasy and finished it we did
Coffee was decent and the cafe vibe chilled and friendly
Cheese aficionados look up! A melty trio of cheeses will satisfy your craving not only by taste but by the oh so satisfying stringy goodness when you pull the sandwich apart.
The cafe was quiet, staff was great and the ambience in a quaint HDB neighbourhood was really refreshing
It also helped that our favourite alferos pistachio gelato was sold by the cafes neighbouring Italian restaurant which we had after devouring the sandwiches
My first date with @artichokes date pudding left me happy and wanting to meet up again. Sweet sticky nutty and topped with umami coffee jelly it was consumed by the four of us in a blink of an eye. Waitstaff was great and we caught a glimpse of Bjorn Shen through the windows of his new smalls pizza which was really cutely small and cosy.
Mrs Kuehs kueh salat made an appearance at dinner today. I love that the ratio of kaya to pulut was more than 1 and the kueh was delicious, reminiscent of chalk farms rendition. My personal preference is a softer sweeter wobblier version like bangawan solos but this was good enough to be finished within a few minutes 😜
Decided to have brunch here as they’re now opened for lunch and boy were we not disappointed! Having said that we almost walked out as the interior was poorly lit for lunch but the friendly staff was hard to resist
I ordered the birscher with gula melaka and i loved the doughy texture and the gula melaka sweetness which upped the taste for me.
Topped with fruits and quinoa it was a generous serving of goodness at $12
The man had the barking breakfast which came with the usual suspects but a twist of chye poh omelette with a peanut sauce .. delicious!
Return factor 3.75/5
Oh and the machiato was decent too😜
Cauliflower is trending across cafes and restaurants and Kafe Utu’s offering comes spiced with African condiments and sits atop a mayo base with peppercorns. Easy to eat its great as a sharing starter😜
Yi means art in Chinese and the restaurant upon entering has cloth cut birds overhanging the entrance to entice patrons.
A warm tasty starter, the soft steamed beancurd skin had minced lionmane mushrooms and looked like a flattened popiah
Texture wise it was interestingly chewy and I would recommend it for non garlic lovers like myself
