We have been coming here since the place first opened over 20 years ago. We do because it serves the most varied and scrumptious yakitori dishes in Singapore and service is excellent. Prices are over 3 times more expensive than Tori-Q but what the heck, we onky live once.

The food is decent, but not nearly as good as any of their equivalent at local restaurants or hawker centres - satay, kueh pie tee, laksa, nasi lemak, char kway teo,teh tarik, etc - at triple the price because you have to pay for the nice environment.

Service is friendly but very slow. The advantage of that is you can linger on and chat without any pressure for additional consumption.

The cuisine here is more pan Asian fusion based on seafood than local Singaporean. It is innovative and quite flavourful. Prices are reasonable.

The chicken rice is ok, but certainly not among the best we’ve had - not even in the top 10 in Singapore. The rice is not very fragrant. Confirms the fact that Michelin is not qualified to judge Asian food.

The outlet at Dempsey is a bit isolated, so you always find a seat here. The cooked dishes are unusual and excellent. The sushi and sashimi are less plentiful but still very fresh. Service is good, although there is only one male waiter because the restaurant is not full. Prices are reasonable.

In my opinion, the best Italian restaurant in Singapore, although the pastas at the now-defunct Art restaurant on Market street were better! Good variety of extremely well-executed dishes, generous portions, friendly and efficient service. Good wine selection. If you carefully select the dishes, prices can be reasonable, but if you can afford it, there’s nothing wrong about splurging once in a while.
