Signature Hokkien Mee @$8 Portion is damn huge. Damn filling for $8 Prawns were fresh. Pork lard amount very generous. Wok hei taste is damn strong, so strong that the aftertaste in my mouth felt like I just smoked some cigarettes. Strongest wok hei I ever had in my life. Gets very crowded during lunch time, practically fighting for tables.

Signature Hokkien Mee I know the name is catchy but that’s nothing fishy here. I wasn’t expecting such a big portion of their signature Hokkien Mee and so full after finish the whole plate. Full of wok hey flavour and even better as you add with their chilli paste. The signature Hokkien Mee comes with prawns, squids, pork belly and pork lards as well.

Wok hey Hokkien mee! Hokkien Prawn Mee Noodles at Prawnography at Novena Gardens! What a punny name! The wok hey was strong! Fragrant prawn mee taste filled the room as soon as we walked in! Each plate costs $8 and it comes with 3 huge fresh peeled prawns, some squid rings and pork belly bits. They were able to entertain my request of no tauguey! 👍🏻 I only wished they gave lean meat instead of fatty pork belly meat! Love the spicy hot red chilli too! Huge delicious ayam buah keluak $9 Novena peranakan was such a fantastic find！ super yummy and such excellent value! The ayam buah keluak had super tender meat, the nut was surprisingly an actual nut not restuffed. Chap chye was a classic, the big ngoh hisng was my fave…such excellent value for $6… the crunch of those chestnuts! Because after a few orders we got so super used to the huge portions, the assam fish $14 for 4 slabs of meat was a little surprising. We so spoilt. This place is highly recommended though on the wrong day service can be a little grouchy. U can call ahead and pickup later

Gelato from Playmade When a bubble tea store is more than just bubble tea, the gelato served at Playmade is surprisingly rich and velvety. Outstanding ones include Pistachio, Dark Chocolate and Yuzu. The tea series gelato like Chrysanthemum Milk and Osmanthus Oolong Milk have light fragrant tea notes too.🥰

Small pork bao 1nett Filling was good, in fact better than chin sin huan because this one doesn't contain egg. However the same problem with the thick bao on top I'm glad I tried tanjong rhu, because now I can say for sure chin sin huan is the best, by a mile

Char siew bao 1nett Their filling is good also. Strong, sweet, but not quite as smoky as chin sin huan. However the bao is too thick on top. Also the temperature is too hot. And bao wasn't fluffy Chin sin huan wins, by far. No wonder they started their own thing lmao

Artbox - Hojicha Latte & Doublr Chocolate Chunky Cookie These mini cookies were indeed chunky and fresh! We got the double choc with macadamia, and it was crunchy outside softer inside, enjoyed it! The hojicha was also p nice - milky but with a distinct hojicha taste and aroma.

Pikachu Donut ($4.50) it's got strong smell for banana essence lmao but then at least chocolate cream served and taste quite artifical and also sweet. I ain't buy this donut no more.

Chocolate Churro ($2.50) finally tried churro series for a while since they released back a few month ago back. Churro was quite soft and chewy compared to pon de ring's texture.

Ya Kun Kaya Cream Donut Great anticipation for this collab. This donut was superb. That's because the filling was superb. So creamy and fragrant.

Jeju Bap I wanted to order this ($15.50) but I ordered something else for warm protein bowl previously. For this protein bowl, I didn't get so full and bloated as previously. I felt that their korea chili vinaigrette was quite waterish and a bit too much sauce on the bowl tbh. I really like their radish pickles can reduce jelak feeling from the bowl easily but their sous-vide chicken was quite slightly dry aftertaste tbh and didn't really like the texture on chicken. Of course, I just hate pea sprouts taste tbh so not that nice. :/

Bold Bulgogi ($13.90) Romaine, Teriyaki Fable, Warm Baked Mushrooms, Potato, Pea Sprouts, Cherry Tomatoes, Sweet Corn, Bulgogi Aioli I love saladstop, it’s good for days I want to get a healthy meal. Portion size is decent, filling enough when I’m not ravenous. This time I tried their Sep seasonal special, and swopped out the pea sprouts for asparagus. It’s a decent mix, the teriyaki fable is a nice meat-free alternative, it’s flavourful and not dry, a bit stringy, kinda like a meatball + pulled pork hybrid. The shiitake mushrooms could have been juicier, romaine lettuce was amply sauced and crunchy, tomatoes were sweet and juicy. Wasn’t a fan of the cold potatoes, and I don’t prefer creamy sauces in my salads. Overall decent I didn’t dislike it, but I prefer their previous seasonal special / other options!

Battered Fish with Coleslaw and Mac & Cheese Josh's Grill also serves a interesting version of fish and chips. My tastebuds have been rather weird post-Covid but there is a strange but nice banana flavour to the batter and the fish. Miss K says it tastes like pineapple or mango to her but needless to say, the fish must have been soaked in a fruit-based marinade. It might sound rather strange but we actually quite enjoyed this!

Chicken Chop with Fries and Coleslaw Josh's Grill is a newish chain of casual diners that serves comfort Western food at decent prices. We like their signature char-grilled chicken chop ($10.90) which comes with a choice of sauces and 2 sides. We love that they also serve you with a warm butter bun whilst you wait for your order. The chicken chop looks relatively small but is actually rather thick and hefty. Using a thick cut is actually better because the chicken will be tender and juicy but takes longer to cook through. Josh's Grill also has an interesting array of hot and cold sides. We like their French fries which have been double fried for a really crispy crust and their coleslaw which comes topped with raisins and some almonds. Josh's Grill falls into a nice sweet spot between hawker food and cafe fare. For a little extra, you get to dine in aircon with comfortable seating, better quality food and some extra perks like a hot butter bun!

Chicken chop and very interesting sides First time dining at Josh's Grill! Got the char grill chicken chop with mushroom cream sauce, which comes with choice of 2 sides! Picked the mash potato and cheesy butter rice. I was very impressed by the creamy mash potato, best I have ever eaten in this kind of western food place that let you choose the side! It was so buttery and light! On the other hand, I didn't quite enjoy the cheesy butter rice. Too cheesy / sticky for me! As for the sauce, I didn't expect it to be served separately. The cream sauce was also kinda of diluted. But quite worth the money for the meal I feel! They have 15 very interesting sides for you to choose from too! Ranging from fries, baked potato, mac & cheese, onion rice, mala broccoli, corn, brussel sprouts and baked beans to cold sides such as salad, green mango and pineapple salad , spaghetti, coleslaw salad and potato salad! Think I will be back again to try their other sides! Eyeing the green mango pineapple salad especially!

I Demand More $7.90 Cocktails, S&D Supplies Weekend brunches are nice and all, but it ain’t a great brunch until it’s a BOOZY brunch. And here at @supplydemandnovena, you can booze up your brunch with FOURTEEN different cocktails, priced at an astonishing seven dollars and ninety cents each. That’s right, slightly under eight bucks for a cocktail at brunch. Oh baby YES!!⠀ ⠀ Since it’s still in the AM, grab yourself an Iced Baileys Latte. The reliable ol’ latte is spruced up with a shot of Bailey’s liqueur, and you can get tipsy and woke at the same time. The latte’s pretty decent with low acidity on the coffee and a moderate milkiness, but the Bailey’s was not incorporated well. The bartender should’ve shook the Baileys Latte up vigorously, and that will be something to note for the future. ⠀ As for the Lychee Highball, it was a ravishingly refreshing, fizzy and moderately sweet cocktail. The lychee syrup is near perfect with the soda water, while the whiskey gives the cocktail a weighty body and the all important alcoholic punch. It may not be strong, but you sure can guzzle a whole lot of them.⠀ ⠀ Supply & Demand’s cocktails are certainly not the strongest, but at just $7.90 nett until four pm, you can just keep downing them one after another. We On Shrooms, Choom For the final dish of the tasting at @supplydemandnovena, we were served the Chorizo e Pancetta off the Exclusive Passholder menu that’s reserved for hospital staff, and medical students & staff at the school of medicine that Supply & Demand has set up operations in. At $15.90 nett, this simple but surprisingly substantial spaghetti will sate voracious appetites while satisfying the need for deliciousness.⠀ ⠀ A generous portion of crumbled up chorizo sausages, diced bacon, onions and shrooms are tossed together with spaghetti in a secret, house special umami broth & olive oil. The spaghetti was slightly past al dente, but it was in no danger of turning mushy. The umami broth delivered, with the amply salty broth fully flavouring everything present. However, Supply & Demand might want to give people an option on the spice level, as the Chorizo e Pancetta is scorchingly spicy. My tongue was set aflame from the spice, and I reached out for my $7.90 cocktail quite often to try and battle the blaze.⠀ ⠀ While Supply & Demand’s brand new brunch menu is the star attraction, their regular lunch & dinner menu is too good to be ignored. All In For the All-Anatra Besides the brunch menu, Supply & Demand have an exclusive menu for all Tan Tock Seng Hospital staff, and NTU Medical School staff & students. One of the exclusive dishes is the All-Anatra pizza ($15.90 nett), which has mozzarella, tomato sauce, onion, rucola and smoked duck slices, complete with dashes of hoisin sauce sitting on a nine inch pizza base. I will admit, I’m not a fan of the house-made pizza base, as it was more bread-y & stodgy than other pizzas. Also, I do think the pizza could’ve done with more Pizzaiolo sauce & cheese, as I found that the toppings tended to flop right off the pizza. Craftsmen Specialty Coffee☕️ Went to Craftsmen Specialty Coffee last week and ordered their Tomyum Seafood Cremoso ($26), Crispy Chicken Burger ($20), Tata Tots ($14), an Iced Matcha Latte ($8.50), and an Iced Caramel Latte ($7.50)!😇 There is an ongoing promotion where you can purchase their Kaizen dollars (buy $50 to get $70 worth of credits) Overall ratings 9/10! First time at this outlet, but went to their Holland V outlet several times before. Food quality is equally good, but some things in this store were out of stock, maybe cuz we arrived at 1.45pm, and hence they did do quite a few replacements (e.g. salted caramel latte oos changed to caramel latte, squid in pasta oos so they changed it to scallops😅) Would visit other outlets in the future to try it out too😁
