Upon entering this little cakery tucked away in Everton Park, you'll be greeted by an incredibly enticing display case of sweet treats. Give the Foret Noir ($9.80) a go — their indulgent take on the classic black forest, with elements of dark Valrhona chocolate and Kirsh-soaked cherries for that alcoholic kick. For something lighter, try the Zacharie ($7.80), a mango passion fruit-infused cheese mousse sitting on a ginger biscuit base, with a mango passion fruit core. Other cakes play with flavours including earl grey, matcha, lychee and even coconut! There's bound to be something to tickle your fancy.
Huge portions aren't usually associated with Japanese culture, but since we're Singaporeans.. Sushi Kuu cleverly serves up mammoth-sized portions of Chirashi. Think extremely fresh assorted sashimi (from Tsukiji Fish Market!) on well-seasoned sushi rice. Their Signature Roll literally tastes like the ocean, with uni, botan ebi, black caviar and tobiko.
However, fret not! The signature thick fresh sashimi in their Chirashi Don are still available! Prices remain pocket friendly with the basic Chirashi at $25!
Decided to treat myself to the Chirashi Kou ($35) - almost the same as the basic one but with slightly more premium ingredients such as Hotate, Chutoro, Unagi and Amaebi from Tsukiji Fish Market!
The selection of items available were rather limited and though thoughtfully crafted, were rather average taste-wise. The kurobuta pork belly buns and chill crab mantou were probably some of the better items! Nevertheless a lovely place for tea while being serenaded by their wonderful pianist!
Matcha Azuke ($16) / eclairs ($6-$7) the parfait though prettily plated was rather underwhelming! Preferred the lovely selection of eclairs! The minimalist yet inviting interior was a plus though!
The A4 grade Wagyu beef was tenderness through and through, while the ikura was extremely fresh. I have seen many soft-boiled eggs in my time but this one was especially beautiful. Admittedly, this wasn't the biggest of portions. However, with the appetiser of crunchy roasted soya beans, clear vegetable broth and a glass of cold green tea, it was enough for lunch.
Love the wholesome and affordable options here at Bread yard! One of my favorites would have to be the cheesy pancakes with lots of candied bacon and maple syrup!!
An East meets West high tea buffet with a decent selection of limited seafood options, local delights and live stations that were easily better than the western options. Enjoyed the rojak & prawn noodle in particular but probably not worth the price!
A generous selection of seafood in this hearty stew! My only qualm would be that the flower crabs were not particularly fresh, nevertheless a steal for the portion and price!
New location and pretty decent! Enjoyed the schnitzel but the pork crackling was rather burnt and hard
Essentially just like regular ice cream though watching them scrape and roll was pretty therapeutic :)
