For Western & Local Favourites Studio Cafe SG is a new addition to Toa Payoh's buzzing food scene. Alongside local dishes like nasi goreng and nasi ayam penyet, expect western dishes like sirloin steak, pasta and even mussels. The food here is reasonably priced and there is no GST or service charge, so if you're looking for good food without breaking the bank, give this place a try! *Halal-certified

Studio Cafe SG Here's Studio Cafe SG: serving local malay favourites along with some western foods. Cheap and good and not pretendious. (Fried Kway Teow was $6.50, Chilli Cheese Fries was $6) Sandwich is so-so though. The ice cream place next door, Little Prince Creamery, is awesome too! #toapayoh #burpple

One of the Best Fried Oysters & Char Kway Teow in Singapore The kway teow had a lovely wok hei, and was so flavourful. The noodles were also “wet” enough, which made it easy to eat. Read more: https://www.misstamchiak.com/green-sky-fried-kway-teow/

Chicken Rice A very simple dinner of the day! Cheap and good to dine although the rice a bit oily. Overall: 4.5/5

Black Carrot Cake Awesome halal carrot cake. Bf was sick, but could still taste the flavours of sweetness, saltiness and spiciness altogether. Indeed hard to find good carrot cakes without using lard.

Nasi Goreng Tomyum Seafood This corner shop along Lavender Street is popular for their Halal foods that open 24 hours. There’s also many families would come here for their Halal tze char dishes especially the seafood selection. I was looking for some supper at night around here so decided to grab my meal here. Tasty fried rice but the tomyum taste wasn’t strong enough for me. Beside seafood, you can choose to go with either chicken or beef also. The seafood one comes with the usual prawn.

Spicy Asian Crab Penne SGD 16.90 - Finally get to try Rouse and it's their second last day of operation. Hope they'll resume operation soon 😐 This dish was rather spicy and it has a very strong dried shrimp taste. Not my type of dish .

Salmon Stack Salmon stack: smoked salmon sandwich with cream cheese on toast, though I think they could use a bagel instead of normal toast maybe it'll taste better | tandoori chicken spaghetti(?): my friend didn't really like it, saying that the spaghetti dance taste weird, and that the tandoori chicken didn't have the tandoori taste at all. | quinoa...: sorry i keep forgetting the names but the last one is a quinoa salad, the main is kinda large of a portion looking like a chunk of meatball, maybe should shrink the size of the ball but have more of it

Fried Chicken With Green Chilli Set >$12 Barely tasted the chicken. A lot of batter added to the chicken. I know they trying to make it crispy but not like that. And the green chilli sauce was okay. Nothing fantastic. Disappointing.

Halal Restaurant serving Steaks. And Why Cafe at Bali Lane is a halal-certified cafe/restaurant managed by Muslims. They started with serving sandwich, coffee and bakes, but now they're serving halal steaks as well. 🔸 At the media tasting that evening invited by Vince, we has 4 types of steaks - striploin with Tennessee sauce, ribeye with peppercorn sauce, tenderloin with mushroom and garlic sauce, and herb crusted lamb rack with chimichurri sauce. While I didn't like that they cook their steaks to medium well, I love the sauces they've paired with each of the 4 steaks we tried. I suppose we could request for medium rare steaks and this should also be a good option for a halal restaurant that serves steaks.

It’s been quite some time since I last recalled having such an enjoyable nasi padang besides my usual HJH Maimunah. Located in 111 Somerset, I have had the nasi ambeng from Pu3 Restaurant previously at their last location and this time round we decided to go for their nasi padang instead. I got the Nasi Sambal Goreng Set which also comes with a well marinated bergedil, juicy fried chicken and serunding sprinkled on top of the rice. The accompanying sambal was mildly sweet and more towards the spicy side which made it very good to go with rice.

Whimsical place for a nice chill from the blazing heat outside. Nutty professor $6.50 and wild berry $6. You can get a sugar rush from both but we kinda needed it. Haha. Do not have these after dinner. You might stay awake. You have been warned. 🤣 #tingzieeats #burpple

Nutty Profession $6.50 🍫🥛☕️ Probably 600 calories of Nutella dunked in with an espresso popsicle served with a mini thing of warm milk! 🍫☕️🥛 Thanks to this I was completely wide awake at 3am! I had this at 830pm 😂 🍫☕️🥛 It is such a good combination though it takes a while for the Nutella to simmer down and blend well with the milk and espresso. 🍫☕️🥛 Definitely try their ondeh ondeh cake as well! Superb! 🍫☕️📱 Free wifi password : iwantcoffee ☕️🍫🥛 There's also card games like Sushi Go and Love Letter which I won 6 rounds to! 😉 Definitely an awesome hidden cafe on the 2nd floor!

Crispy Fish With 2 Sides $12.90 Thin crispy battered layer on the outside, soft succulent fish filet. Could visibly see that the battered layer had a few types of herbs in it which made it rather aromatic with each bite. Potato salad was alright ,not too soft or hard. Nothing too fancy Would not recommend to have egg salad with potato salad. Way too much mayo sauce in one meal. & egg salad was pretty meh. Egg chunks were pretty tough and would think that it might be overcooked. Nothing fancy and would preferred it chilled instead of room temperature, as it tasted quite “eggy” Best part of the dish would be the main star - crispy fish Would not travel for this but would drop by if I’m in the vicinity

Kebab @ Charco's I ordered the Chicken Kebab + 3 Salads, and I chose: Pesto Pasta, Egg Salad, Potato Salad. The kebab was thick and the meat was succulent. The potato salad and pasta were delicious as usual but the egg salad quickly got muak (I have no idea how to explain that in English, basically it took very little time to get sick of) But overall it was good and I loved it and I would go here again :)

Schnitzel (Chicken cutlet + 2 Side Dishes) Super like the chicken cutlet! The meat is not dry and the batter has got a tinge of spices which made it taste quite interesting! Sides were coleslaw and tuna pasta which were pretty good too.
