First time having otah served in this fashion (whole deboned yellow croaker stuffed with housemade Otah, then baked in banana leaf), it was fresh and fragrant!

This was our favourite dish among all we tried! The satay was so juicy and meaty, and paired perfectly with the sweet peanut sauce!

The underrated dish of the night! Served as a modern salad, we loved how the cuttlefish and spinach absorbed all the flavourful sauce!

The rice rolls were silky smooth, and came together with fried beancurd skin, special chilli sauce, Ipoh curry and green chilli. Tasty combination overall!

Last weekend’s brunch at Little Farms’s newest myVillage dining outlet was a hearty affair! We had the:

~Aussie ($28)
~Rump Steak & Eggs ($26)
~Serangoon Slaw / Dirty Rice
~Muscovado Carrot Cake ($12)
~Pistachio Raspberry Rose Cake ($15)

The Aussie is a good solid big breakfast made up of the usual suspects like eggs, beans, portobello, tomato, sausage, bacon (this was really good though, thickly cut and so crispy!) and sourdough. The Rump Steak & Eggs was also executed well; we liked that the steak was well-seasoned and had a nice flavour although texture-wise it wasn’t the most tender. We paired these with a couple of sides - Serangoon Slaw and Dirty Rice. The former had a nice citrusy touch to it, while the latter was nicely flavoured with Latin spices. We ended our meal with a couple of cakes, where the Muscovado Carrot Cake stood out best with its moistness and nutty crunch.

This place is pet-friendly too, so you can bring along your furry cuties when you dine here. After your meal, you can also check out their grocery store for fresh produce!

Noodles are springy, vinegar and chilli sauce mix is very well-balanced, pork slices are tender, and the mushrooms add that extra umami punch! The soup that comes with it is also very flavourful! Highly recommended!

This has gotta be one of the best beef phos I’ve had in Singapore so far. The broth is extremely hearty, rich, and full of beefy flavour (we spoke to the owner who revealed that they use beef bones to prepare the beef broth, and chicken bones for the chicken broth)! The brisket slices were nice too, and each order is served together with a generous portion of greens. If you’re a fan of pho, I implore you to check this place out!

The recent rainy weather certainly makes one crave for warm soupy food, and that’s what we had for dinner a few days ago at Nan Hwa Chong Fish Head Steamboat Corner!

We had their Red Grouper Fish Head Steamboat with the whole fish (1.5kg, seasonal price). The hotpots here are all charcoal-fired, and it adds an extra smokiness to the taste of the already flavourful broth that’s prepared with fish bones. The fish we had was very fresh, its meat - firm, flaky and not fishy at all! My family and I thoroughly enjoyed this and it’s certainly one of the best fish head steamboats we’ve had so far in Singapore!

We started with Chilli Crab Cake ($19) & Kueh Pie Tee ($12), and both were pretty enjoyable! The former was a croquette stuffed with crab meat served with chilli crab sauce, while the latter was an elevated take on the classic with smoked crème caviar as the topping! For mains, we had the Nyonya Fried Rice ($19) & Prawn Oil Kombu Tagliatelle ($22). While the Nyonya Fried Rice as a whole was pretty good, individually we felt the boneless chicken thigh was a tad dry (the sambal chilli was solid though!), while the Prawn Oil Kombu Tagliatelle did not impress us, as it was dry and lacking flavour! For desserts, the Kueh Durian ($16) was a winner, and durian lovers will definitely love this! We also had the Our Style Chendol ($11) for our second dessert.

A dessert that tasted as good as it looked! All the different flavours and textures - fruity, floral, crispy, and spongy all combined harmoniously! Recommended!

The white wine gravy was so creamy and fragrant, while the chicken was really tender and well-braised! Recommended!

This was our favourite dish of the day! The fish (trout) was perfectly cooked, while the other ingredients like couscous, lava egg, and salami, all paired extremely well with the savoury sauce. Highly recommended!
